Money changer employee robbed of HK$900,000 in cash in Sham Shui Po

17th May 2022 - (Hong Kong) At about 4pm today (17th), a male staff member surnamed Cheung (45 years old) from a money changer located on Apliu Street in Sham Shui Po was passing by Cheung Sha Wan Road near Pei Ho Street. Suddenly, two men jumped out with a knife about 20cm and attacked the victim.

His grey briefcase containing HK$900,000 in cash was snatched. After the suspects succeeded, they took a private car and fled in the direction of Cheung Sha Wan. Other citizens then called the police when they saw the incident.

Paramedics arrived after receiving the report. The male victim sustained injuries on his left foot, and his shoulder was also bruised. After bandaging, he was sent to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment. The police cordoned off the scene and, after preliminary investigation, classified the case as "robbery" and handed it over to the Sham Shui Po District Crime Squad for follow-up.
